Visit our historic farm on the picturesque Hamakua coast of the Big Island of Hawaii and enjoy a truly special, intimate chocolate tasting and tour. You’ll learn about the century-old history of this incredible farm and the care and passion that owners, Mike and Rhonda Pollard, pour into creating exceptional chocolate that is authentic to Hawai’i. Our small-batch chocolate’s dynamic flavor profiles come from the distinct climate, terrain and soil – the “terroir” - only found in Hawai’i. Our chocolate is made from scratch - bean-to-bar - in small batches, using the highest quality ingredients, sourced locally from the Big Island of Hawai’i and from around the world, including the Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Honduras to name a few. We use Native brand Turbinado style Organic cane sugar sourced from sustainable farms to add just the right amount of sweetness, but still allowing the plethora of flavors to shine through.

In an effort to support safe business re-openings amid the pandemic, we supply FDA approved hand sanitizer for all of our guests, and we require our guests to follow our state mandated protocols (social distancing and masks).

  • Our 45 minute walking farm tour includes a view of our cacao orchard with nearly 1000 trees and over 40 varieties of exotic/tropical fruit trees and plants. We also share the history and roots of our century-old farm and the history of the district of Hamakua.

  • The tour ends with our 1 hour tasting, which includes chocolate from Hawai'i and from around the world, allowing you to experience how a particular region’s climate, soils and terrain affect the taste of the chocolate, "the terroir" as winemakers have so famously coined the term. We make all of the chocolates right here on the farm starting from the dry beans, all of which are sourced from sustainable and fair trade farms. We will share the history and process of making chocolate from tree to tasting, and you’ll get to view our chocolate-making facility. Our farm store operates under a Hawai'i County Agricultural-based Commercial Operation Certification where we sell all of our farm products.
